About Me
I’m a New York City based writer and editor. I’m available for freelance writing, editing, and fact checking assignments on all subject matters. My areas of specialty are international news, travel, health, and science.
I was most recently a Content Programme Manager at the Economist where I created and edited articles and infographics for clients, managed editorial calendars and freelance writers, led client calls, wrote copy for ad units and pitched content programs to potential clients for new business. Prior to that, I was a Digital Manager at Weber Shandwick, a global public relations agency, where I created editorial content for client newsrooms. I spent the majority of my career as a researcher-reporter on staff at Newsweek magazine from 2001 until the end of 2012. I have also worked in book publishing and with medical journals.
I have an MA in Science Journalism from Columbia University’s Graduate School of Journalism, where I wrote my master's thesis on the hunt for a malaria vaccine. I hold a BA with concentrations in Literature and Media from New York University’s Gallatin School of Individualized Study.
